The karts

The championship offers drivers a chance to race one of our Biz JK1 karts. These are 20kg lighter than the standard hire-kart and have been fitted with new T2 GX160 engines, which means faster lap times and closer racing. Teesside Karting has 43 such karts, with the championship using a maximum of 35 per class, allowing for spares.

Entry criteria

The championship is open to anyone of 16 years and over.

It is currently the North of England’s leading hire-kart sprint series, allowing new and experienced drivers the opportunity to compete in a low-cost, competitive championship, without the need for capital outlay. NRG Cycles and Teesside Karting are keen to promote racing talent in the region and see this series as an ideal way to help achieve this.

The championship is held at Teesside Autodrome over 8 rounds, with the best 6 rounds counting towards the final championship standings.

Heavyweight [85kg] and Lightweight [70kg] classes compete in the same format of a 10-minute practice and two 20-minute races.

The entry price is £60 per round and a one-off registration fee of £10 when booking the first round.

To book

Bookings are taken at Teesside Karting. The cost is £60 per round with a one-off £10 registration fee via the Teesside Karting online booking system. The full entry cost must be paid immediately. Unpaid entries will be deleted automatically (even with a deposit). Booking is on a round-by-round basis and will open on the Monday after each round for the next month.
